Does my bass tone sound right?

I don't really know what a bass is supposed to sound like in a metal song. Both bass tracks have compression on them. One is just the raw di track and the other has Logic's Bass amp pro plugin. Could you guys tell me what you think, and give some suggestions to make it sound better?

Th plugin one sounds OK, but you obviously need some sort of reference point, like drums and/or guitars.
