I forgot about canvas solaris, that reminds me of another band that might appeal to you - SUN CAGED? They are pretty durn technical, and their bass player plays a seven string cause he thinks he's tough. They were probably more technical (not to mention interesting) on their demos that they had (have? I haven't looked at it since their album came out) like Killer Banshee. Their self-titled LP has some of the most god-awful vocals ever, but the music is really cool on some of the tracks.

Hey don't blame me I am addicted!! Naaa, the people in the SympX are way cool. They know good prog-metal when they hear it. They are just not used to Dutch bands

Yeap, I wander regularly the Enchant board and I got in touch with Sun Caged thanks to the guys there adding the band into their top ten ratings. This debut album sounds incredible!! And it seems you're going to jump up to the highest level, as far as critics are concerned...
