At the moment i have symphonic choirs, symphonic orchestra silver and gold, and edirol orchestra.

I really like edirol orchestra the most though, that's pure synth, no sampled library like the other VSTi's but sounds good and more important for me, actually works a lot easier.

Gold is cool, choirs keep fucking up my PC for some reason, i cannot get it to work in my hosts properly, but when treated right that is quite a plugin.
I reconized symphonic choirs in the xbox live arcade game called "puzzle quest" and i heard the choirs in the japanese movie "Kasshern".

I second this Bob. Well, almost. I have Edirol Orchestral also, and really like it. For what it is, it's really good sounding. But I won't say it's my favorite. I really like Philharmonik. But I still frequently use Edirol.

Sidenote: I saw the Lord of the Rings Symphony a year or two ago and it was one of the best musical experiences of my life. There were parts that blew away most black metal bands as far as being dark. It was fucking scary.

Not sure but essentially it's just takes from the soundtracks which can be purchased on Amazon or wherever. The big deal about it was seeing it live with all the voices. You really can't beat that.

I'd second or third the EastWest Orchestra Libraries. I have EastWest Orchestra Gold and enjoy it. Though I wish the solo cello was a bit better. I'm still looking for a good library of a chamber ensemble. But group strings in EastWest are great if you take the time to tweek out the playing, it can sound very real with some good reverb.

i use miroslav philharmonik and imo its the best in its pricerange. The choirs are quite limited but the strings and percussion sound great

I watched "Death Race" yesterday, since I got curious about the score after James plugged it. Very nice indeed, kind of computer game style. Lots of "Distorted Reality" based sounds.

And I liked the movie too.

Do you have StormDrum2 and how do you like that compared to the first one?

It was all done with Stormdrum 1. I don`t have SD2 and haven`t heard much of this. Have to check that out. I also used samples called "g-town-church-samples" i`ve downloaded for free.
The creator of the samples made them accessable via torrent:

I actually heard one of my tracks (a kind of smooth hip-hop style track) on HBO in between programs for a Dish Network pay-per-view advertisement for a soft-core porn style photo shoot of girls on some beach. I was stoked.

I had a similar experience with Edirol Orchestral instead, it is undoubtebly used on the first Tomb Raider game on the playstation. I will upload the tune if anyone wants it, but it was the first level with the bear i seem to remember vividly (thats the one on the demo too). The Oboe and everything is bang on.
