Dragonforce @ CBGB's CANCELLED

The real reason is because there is a guy named Herman Li (an American) on the FBI wanted list and for those who don't know, the guitarist from this band is also called Herman Li but he's English. He was not admitted in the US. To be admitted, he would have to go through a 2 month investigation.

If this ends up being true, then it's their own fault. I remember seeing you guys discuss this show a long time ago. Surely the band/promoters/whoever had time to get this stuff taken care of WELL IN ADVANCE. Everyone in the world knows it's a little difficult for foreigners to enter the US these days. For this issue to pop up at the last minute proves that the promoters half-assed this whole thing.

Don't blame the US government; they're trying to protect us, and it's much-needed right now.

Wow, so all the I hate my country blah, blah was just a bit premature, then? I remember something once told to me about having all the facts first. To anyone who still wants to move outta this country...whatcha waitin' for, bye. A country, any country, has the right to know who is coming into their borders.

Just in time for powerfest maybe??:erk:

And as for hating on my own country...

...I really do get pissed off by my country's foolish administration. Wanna keep out great heavy metal bands, but wanna let border jumpers down south have their "rights" even though they're not entitled to any, cuz they're NOT AMERICAN CITIZENS.

This is quickly turning into a political debate and I don't like it. Therefore...

LOL that some people take this as an opportunity to bash the U.S. Government. Yeah, it's definitely their fault.

I didn't bash on anyone's government. I bashed on some of the stupid immigration/border control policies. Read my post again.

And if I think I should bash on the US government for not agreeing with it (or with some of its policies), you can be damn sure I will. Afterall, freedom of speech is still on the 1st Amendment =)

Come on... everyone knows if they really wanted to play, they could just fly to Mexico, hop over the border and catch a flight to NY. No Problem....

bwahahahaha.... they could also fly to Cuba and take a boat trip :)

Although the are a "British" band, Herman Li was born in Hong Kong i.e China, Vadim Pruzhanov is from Ukraine, and ZP Theart is South African so it could indeed be vias issues. I live here in England now and have met a few people who were born in other countries, moved here and have lived here for years even decades and still don't have UK passports or citizenship. So they may not be allowed to enter the US as easy as a UK citizen or passport holder, I have a few Brit friends that go back to the States every few months and never have any hassle or problems at customs or immigration.

not sure if this is the problem, just my two cents

I don't think it is THAT ridiculous... I mean, the US is in a very delicate situation in world politics nowdays.. They need to be careful! Threats could come from lots of differents kinds of people... And the problem of illegal aliens should be addressed as well...

There are some good reasons for it.. It's unfortunate that it got to this point, but it's a fact... It's a bit too much, for sure, but finding the balance is hard, specially without profling all Arabs as possible threats..

Actually, some actor was talking about how his name is also on that list and everytime he flies he has to go through a massive security check and what not. Totally forgetting who that was, though. Want to maybe say Chris O'Donnel.

Oh, believe me! I know how tight security is.. I am Brazilian and I go back and forth to Brazil all the time.. In december it will be the third time this year... It's a pain in the ass! It takes forever...
