i think, it´s to late for me to start learning to play an instrument professional. i´m 22 years old. and, i better don´t start singing. it would be too cruel for this world
I started learning to play the guitar only a few weeks ago, and I'm 26 years old... but I don't wanna play professionally, I'll be happy if I ever learn to play some of my favorite songs. But I don't know if I'm ever gonna get there, cos I'm more like spending 9h online per day and practising only 9 minutes

regarding people wanting to learn an instument at a later age: i started playing guitar when i was 14, and i progressed fast for what i knew (nothing), i learned bad religion songs for as long s i could remember. then i heard AC/DC and classic rock, then i discovered COB and METAL (Dio, maiden, SInergy, Stratovarious, Silent Force, Malmsteen, Arch Enemy, and counless others,) and my whole outlook on guitar playing changed radically. Can you belive I thought that the Toy Dolls were Amazing, fuck that. i heard alexi, and i was like "i must be that good someday." then i heard Yngwie and i started crying. but shit, i started out with punk rock, now i like some of the most melodic music since mozart. but as for a starting age, i think its never too late to start playing, it just depends on how good you want to be, and how hard you are willing to work to get to that level. but all the incredible guitarists i know of have started out at a very young age (younger than 10 years old when they started), and it has helped them, Yngwie started playing when he was 7. in general, if you havent learned to read and understand sheet music by the time you are 16, there is almost no hope for you. there are exceptions to the rule however. so work hard, and practice practice practice. Practice does not make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect.
