Dream Theater-As I Am MP3 radio edit

Whoa. The production is atrocious.

Maybe it's first listen jitters, but that wasn't very good at all. It's like "You Not Me" all over again.

Maybe the extended version is better?

It sounds like they're trying too hard. James is a good vocalist and they're not letting it show. The best part of the song is the up-front bass, which has rarely been seen in DT. Why does DT feel the need to try and pretend they're pantera?

I've gotten used to the song after a few listens, but I hope the rest of the album isn't like that.

I miss the 'adventure' feeling. A DT album is supposed to feel like an adventure, a sprawling musical landscape of moods and everything. SDOIT definitely had that down pat.
