Granted, probably will only lose a few folks to Dream Theater, but its still competition......

yeah...that was a bigger blow to the fest actually since tons of locals have crossover appeal.

Ha, say what you want about Al but he has come each year not only to play but actually support the fest.

Even at MoJoes when zero of the bands appealed to him he still came to support the fest.

But yeah, I talked to him yesterday and he is out.

I think the DT booking means losing the local prog power contingent who may have come to check it out.

The stinker is DT are going back to their "An Evening With" format of no openers. Also playing songs they have never played live, and making each show a festival format where they are taking over the entire venue with exhibits and things....

Ironically it is right down the street being at the Chicago Theater. And just a few blocks away from Carcass......

It will be loud on State Street that night!

I saw one of their "An Evening With" shows for the Train of Thought tour.
It was just WAY too much DT for me, but definitely cool for the die hard fans.

I liked DT a lot actually when they opened for Maiden.
They played 6 or 7 signature songs within 45 minutes.

Maiden is the only time ive seen DT live because everytime they come to town i always have something else goin on or i was living at school. I need to see a full show from them, love em to death.
