Who could make a great band? This is a classic question I think, sorry if already asked. Here's one:

Mike Patton - Vocals
Dave Navarro - Guitars
Trent Reznor - Guitars
Markus Grosskopf - Bass
Kevin Moore - Keyboards
Joey Jordison - Drums

Grosskopf here is a pretty odd choise compared to others, but he's my favourite basist, so that's it.

I don't really care who plays what (Most are the type of guys who do everything anyways... I just put it for the sake of following the thread), just throw 'em all into a studio together and see what they come up with.

...With the exception of DeFarfalla... he's just sorta there to play bass. Heh.

I don't think I've ever actually thought about this... sure, one has seen some damned good one or two-time line-ups, but I don't think I've ever given it a thought...

Just off of the top of my head (I'd probably change them all, one by one if I got to think about it)...

Doro Pesch - Vocals (Warlock/Doro)
Jani Liimatainen - Guitar (Sonata Arctica)

Not so sure Bruce Dickinson's voice would go well with Doro Pesch's ... or if they'd fit with any woman's voice at all, but as I said, I haven't given this any thought at all, which is why nobody should ask why I decided to go with that group... they'd probably not sound good together at all.
