I'm knocking down a few myself. I have some Belgian beer and Maker's Mark whiskey. Only the best today. ^___^ I actually drink the whiskey quite rarely. It's more like my back-up if I run out of beer. Might as well have good shit for a back-up though.

I'm a Mexican beer/whiskey/Amaretto/Pisco man, myself. But i have never and never will get drunk on Amaretto. It's a sweet drink and those bite you in the ass in the end.

Belgium, though it's a tiny country has over 500 brews. I have only tried maybe 20-25 of them, so it's hard to say what my favorite is. So far, I like the Corsendonk Abbey ale. I think it is around 10.5% ABV. Usually unless it's an IPA or something else really hoppy that can hide the alcohol taste, anything over around 8%, I can start tasting the alcohol and it interferes with the malts and hops.

As far as whiskey, I don't drink it often, but when I do, I am an American purist on that one. I want a single malt bourbon whiskey like Maker's Mark. I love a good British gin once in a while or a Danish or Swedish vodka, but if it's brown in color, it better be made in Kentucky.

Stay away from that strong 100 proof peppermint schnapps. That stuff is so smooth and sweet, I didn't realize how much of it I drank one night. I'm lucky I didn't die from alcohol poisoning. Something that tastes like a"girl drink" (no offense to the ladies here) shouldn't be that damned potent. We poured shots, set the shit on fire, blew it out, then drank it.

well as a 16 year old, and not a very heavy drinker at all, i dont have quite the repitoire as you older folks. But my favorite drink of all time has always been, and always will be, Mike's Hard Lemonade! Mike's Hard is the greatest, goes down like water, idk about you heavy drinkers, but it gets ME drunk after about 10, but the only downside to em, is the INSANE price! its like TEN bucks for a 6-pack! its daylight robbery

a) you shouldn't been drinking at 16. At least wait until is legal (18 or 21 depending your laws)

b) a way to discourage alcohiol drinking is to raise taxes and prices on beverages. That's common practice from government and I agree is a neat idea even is not always practical.

500, huhu, we have over 1500 beers in Belgium !!!! But I tasted not much more than you did Bryant, maybe 50 or so. I stick to my fav, that is a sweet cherry-beer called "Kriek" (you have it from different makers here and tastes varying from real sweet to bitter sweet), or just the "normal" Jupiler beer we have here....

@Thraxdude...never heard of Bush - beer, sounds funny though... Maybe is the translation of Bosbeer, brewed only 10 miles from my place. It's also a sweet tasting beer with blueberry wich I like alot

Aha! Drinking again, lady you're grounded for a semester this time. I'm trying to give your little brother an example and your behavior is not helping me.

Now seriously, echoing Dodens words drinking should not be encouraged. I'm a firm believer that every adult is free to do as he/she wants. The price of that freedom is to learn our lessons while underage to be "reasonable sure" we can do as we like while reaching adulthood.

And even so consuming substances that are not needed for the metabolic purpose of surviving (e.g. food) should be not encouraged even between adults.

I may be the dullest guy in the planet: no alcohol, no tobacco, no drugs and I'm even trying to cut down legal pharmaceuticals. My only vice is to buy CDs.
