Since the release date is approaching, I thought it would be cool to gather all the reviews of the album that have been published thus far and keep supplementing the list with new ones as they pop up. Here's what I've read (some of them may not be proper reviews, but still indicate how the album is being received). Feel free to contribute to the list.

Ultimate Guitar : Testament formed in 1983 with the release of their first album in 1986.

You have to laugh when someone rates someone else, and makes it a point to start with the history and messes up when the first album came out.

I don't know about you,but my copy says 1987 :)

Yeah, at least 25% of the reviews contains some silly stuff like that. One guy didn't even know if Powerslave was a cover. The rest of the review was still very good, I have to admit.

You know it's just that these people get paid to do this.anyone can find out this info online in 5 seconds .Shit I might as well start a review site lol

Hi everyone (first post here). Reviews are mostly great, some of them actually include wrong info or distorted point of views, I read one in Spanish saying that True American Hate had a great deal of black metal inflence  and being a black metal freak for the last 15 or 20 years I couldn't help but laughing my ass off... but anyway, looks like some of the writers do not get paid at all so they write whatever comes to their minds without an editor checking it before uploading. What matters here though, is that the new album is being praised worldwide :headbang:

I write for That Devil Music. I guess I get paid in free music for writing reviews, but I certainly don't get paid cash! I don't think a lot of reviewers do. I do it because I dig metal. Good luck finding someone that will pay you.

I have admittedly only listened to the entire album a few times, but it is a strong one and getting better with each listen.

Regardless,it's your job.If you are going to write about a band take 5 minutes to get you facts right.

That's right, I write reviews for a website too and every time I need a band's info, it only takes an e-mail to their management/label for them to happily send you a press kit with everything you need to know. Besides there's also metal-archives.com... so no one can say they "didn't know" in this day and age... and yes, it would be great to get paid for writing reviews, but I don't give a shit, at the end of the day we all are immersed in this because we love it, not because we can get something out of it.

It's funny, the guy really like the album, but not the dvd part. I think he would've rated it higher if he was just reviewing the music. Oh well.

Maybe it's something different. A lot of the reviews (also the video ones on YT) praise every aspect of the album, do not mention any cons but the final rate is 8/10 ("brilliant album, true masterpiece, no weak points...a strong 8 out of 10"). I'm not for overusing the highest grades, but if you take away 20% of the rating, tell the readers why.
