Drum editing Nuendo Versus Protools

thanks Ermin - congrats on your recent mixes - stunning work

looks like I'm getting an Mbox

I believe Digidesign sell some sort of dongle type interface that lets you run ProTools LE. The drawback is that it has a 1/8" stereo output, so you need a different cable to interface with your monitors.... or do it like I do and just use headphones! It'll save you some money over the Mbox (because quite honestly, if it's just for running tools, you don't need any of the features).

Thank you for the kind words. I'm just hoping the bands do the rounds with them and get some good exposure for themselves. I hope your band's been going well.

I actually meant to ask you for a while now... are you still hanging onto that Millennia Origin? It's a long shot, I know, but I thought I'd ask all the same.

thanks for the tip, I'm ebaying it now.

their good bands, they'll be shopping it around - were doing fine, got a good line up of guys and some live work coming up later this year.

I've still got the Millennia, just haven't got around to selling it yet - was looking at a Buzz audio to replace it

I was gonna start a new thread about Cubase 5, and ask if there are any improvements about editing in the new version but obviously, NOT! So there's still time before selling my m-audio hardware (for editing, I'm still using the old m-powered pro tools that came with the hardware... I still haven't seen any DAWs that beat editing in Pro-Tools)

ProTools owns. Almost everything about it is more intuitive than any other DAW. If it just weren't locked into those Digi interfaces, it'd be the tool for me.

Same here. For fuck's sake, even kids will be buying I7 or higher cpus a year from now...(some of them already got) I wonder what will HD Accel become in the future...

I'm sure there are faster ways to do it in Reaper, cuz that program is incredible, but I haven't discovered 'em yet! (cuz I pretty much never work with live drum tracks, since I only record myself with programmed drums)

well you can dynamic split and then quantize, but i'm not too good at using the dynamic split right. I never seem to be able to get it to work accurately, it sometimes misses the beginning of the hits. Someone write a "how to edit drums fast on reaper" for this pleeaaaaaaseee, it'd be invaluable to me and i'm sure many other reaper users on here
