Preferably something with a torrent or that's free in general. I tried Toontracks, but it won't install or run properly. For fast stuff, like brutal death or black metal.
Try NI Battery ver.2 or 3! I always use my own presets and drum samples in this sampler, programming dynamic layers etc., so U can load toontrack samples for example. I use it with PC, but I know there are some shared versions for mac.
On a similar subject, does anyone know where I can find some metal-oriented drum loops, I'm putting together some rough personal compositions in garageband with rudimentary gear and the biggest problem I have is no high tempo drum loops or any with double bass.
I'm surprised you had trouble with toontrack. It IS a bugger to install, but once you do, it's so easy to use. I'm guessing you downloaded a torrent of EZ Drummer. They NEVER work.
Do yourself a favor and shell out the $150 for a real version. You won't regret it. It's worth every penny.
if you guys are pirating shit, GTFO. Any DAW will have a piano roll type editor you can use to program. garageband has some decent sounding rock kits for death metal type drums.
no reason to pirate software that people work hard to make!
