Drum only track for a new Underoath song

I'm really digging the auxiliary percussion in this tune. Never really got into Underoath. Maybe it's time.

By the way, the new episode of Dexter last night was great.

sounds pretty natural

How do you think they when about the drums on this album? Doesn't really sound like samples, but it sounds too consistent to be 100% natural drums.
Perhaps they mixed in samples? Or maybe they 100% replaced with samples from the kit, then punched in the faster fills? That would cause phasing issues with the overheads and and room mics though, unless they took great care to align the phase on the punched in drums....

im quite interested in how they get such awesome sounding drums on legit recordings....

That snare sounded a bit too consistent in the verb/ring out. Of course, I was listening on headphones, so who knows.

sounds like a snare sample on the single hits, and original snare in on the fills. Pretty cool drum sound / arrangement.

it sounds like matt recorded the two parts in different (ips) ...first one sounds like 15ips ...the fills sound like 30ips.

there is def. distortion added (as an effect) ...probably distressors or overdriven 1176 on a sub-grp?

goldman has a pretty natural drum sound in the majority of his productions... but the production efforts always emphasize predictability.

i.e. the chariot / as cities burn / underoath ect.

i love the sound though.

LEGIT!

maybe they only added the sustain part of the snare ringing to have this constant ring....
most of the times (due to skins getting looser and looser over the tracking day),its impossible to have the same ringing quality throughout
a full song (unless its all one take...)

nevertheless : really really great drumtracks !!!

shows what a great room does to drums. you cant achieve that in a dead small booth...

Kit sounds incredible. Kick and toms are amazing. Snare will be hit and miss depending on how it fits in the mix. That ring will probably get completely lost ><

15ips and 30ips are different tape speeds, not that i have any experience with tape but i think its 15ips is meant to sound a bit warmer than 30ips.

How the hell can you hear the difference of tape speeds between fills and hits?!

I'm quite sure that is' just the floor tome perfectly tuned to a note.

Nah, there's definitely bass bleed in there.
