Hey Guys--
Here's a short video of our drummer, Shawn, messing around on the drums in the studio. I set everything up really quick, so it's kinda minimal and incomplete (i.e. no bottom snare mic, tom EQs were done in like 2 seconds and could be a lot better, etc.). But I think it sounds OK for the most part; let me know what you think.

those fast rolls would be quite difficult, even for some of the big name players i've jammed and recorded with, to play with much more force than that... i've seen a few guys who can though, it's just rare.

yeah, but then it all becomes quite unbalanced doesn't it...

.. but i definitely won't argue the point that i love a drummer who can pound the hell out of the skins.

Yeah, he can definitely pound the living crap out of 'em, believe me (to the point that we have to rein him in sometimes...heh heh). He was just starting out nice and easy.

And we were definitely laughing at the little cowbell "embellishments."

Not bad... I'd tune the toms up a bit higher in pitch myself, though... not a lot, just a little... gives a bit "better" range when he fills in with them in the mix, I think.

He sucks, I heard THREE sticks in there!!! Just kidding. Not that I was ever planning on playing the drums, that video did about everything necessary to halt my entertaining any notion of me even touching that instrument ever again.
