I assume most of you edit first then replace, but I'm curious if some of you ever replace before editing, just so that you can work with better drum tones?

if im editing drums recorded with triggers i monitor with drumagog but i dont replace untill im done editing

Edit first, you don't need cool drum tones for editing and besides you don't risk triggering errors/missing hits.

Generally (99% of the time) I edit then replace...HOWEVER
One time I had a really terrible drummer, so I actually did a rough replacement first. I needed to know if the samples would hide some of the absolutely insanely bad edits I HAD to make in order to get a drum track that was even passable.
