Ive noticed in a lot of the pictures of other peoples studios they have to display monitors. From what I can tell in the pictures it looks like one is the DAW and one is a mixer or something. Can this be done in Sonar 8? If so, how?

I never worked with Sonar, but as long as the mixer is separately movable/detachable from the main window it´s possible. You can freely move your windows from one screen to another.

you gotta go with 2 monitors... once you do you'll wonder how you ever got by without it. (i even make my employers set me up with dual monitors!)

I just got my 2 monitors setup running, and so far I hate it. I wish I would have just gone with one 42 inch or something like that. In fact I just may.

Reason being, I can't stand sitting in between the 2 monitors. I find I need to be directly in front of my main monitor, and since it's off to the left a bit, it screws with my stereo perception. Turning up the volume on my right speaker fixes this, but then if I do move center of the desk then the right is too loud.

Just my opinion so far.

Go with the Otero 3-monitor method.

I can't get Sonar to spread across the two windows unless I make it small and adjust the window to fit across the 2 screens manually. Then I also need to make the track view and mixing view small and adjust them. So I don't use it, I just use track view and use the 2nd screen for internet or whatever else.

My factory video card has two outputs on it, a VGA (Currently Using) and an HDMI port. If I use the HDMI for another monitor do you think it would work? or should I get a specific video card?

+1

(Not that I have the space or money for a second monitor, but still curious.)
