Duncan neck pups: Jazz vs Distortion ?

Jazz for smooth leads/Bright sparkly cleans.

I like a neck pick-up to be quite "liquid" for sweeps or fast tapping ala Symphony X or the likes when the tone is turned off, and quite bright and hitting when playing clean on a tube amp when playing bluesy things.

Then I should head toward the Jazz ?

If "liquid" is what you want, the Jazz or 59 will suit you well. Personally I hate that overly bassy tone and the Distortion is more aggressive, which I like better.

Your best bet is Duncan Jazz / Dimarzio Paf Pro / Bareknuckle VH2

I'm with Matrix. Just ordered a Dimarzio 30th Anniversary PAF for my neck pup on my '96 MIK Epi LP... I like more bite and less bass in the neck pickup... also pairing it with a Super Distortion in the bridge!!!

Funny... I thought the PAF 36th anniversary was way too smooth, lol.

Guess I wouldn't like the Duncan Jazz either.
