Dvd Audio

Just curious anyone have any DVD Audio discs? If so, what do you think? I know there's not much out there right as far as Rock/Metal discs. I picked up the Metallica-s/t & Alice Cooper Billion Dollar Babies. I was very suprised at the sound of these things. The sound is out of this fucking world! You'll hear shit that you weren't able to hear before. I saw there's a Queensryche-Empire. Gotta have it.

Are they really that much better, even if you have great speakers to begin with? I heard the Black Album, and it wasn't anything too drastic to me.

Well alitte. I think that you'll hear a dramatice difference if you've got a DVD AUDIO player. There's a slight diffrence using just a standard DVD Player. I think it's all in the system. I think you'll hear the difference when running it on even a low grade home theater. As for the industry thinking these will take off? I don't know. I mean you can't play these on your home disc, car or computer? It's just too much to ask. How many people are willing to change to another format?!

That shit will be obsolete before your breakfast gets cold. Just like those Digital audio cassettes in the early-90s.

You're half right. They have already put out 6.0 super audio cd's which are "better" according to those people trying to get you to "buy." As for the comparison to digital cassettes, that just silly.
It's not like these things are those damn, mini discs that sony tried to market as the new big thing a decade ago?

Well, they didn't impress me to the point where I would buy discs that won't play in my cd player. I've invested too much in it.

I think that is one of the main reasons that they'll stick to releasing the big sellers from certain artists & bands....
The cost is pretty reasonable at $18.00-$20.00...

Vinyls still owns anything made on cd, dvd, or superaudio. And you don't need a 10000$ system to listen to them, just an old phono you can find in every pawnshop and a 200$ turntable.

The only thing that bad about vinyl is every time you play the damn thing you're killing the sound....
Otherwise records are great.
