Ok, now that is wonderful. Does the store know, that there was a problem with the DVD and they are supposed to take it back, even if it was already opened??? I mean, the DVD is defective, that´s a fact and they should take it back, but usually you can´t take it back when the package was opened.

I would figure it shouldn't be too hard as the product is defective - and its something they can prove by playing it.

It might take a few minutes but I don't think you will have a major problem.
