Echo Audiofire 12 - dont ever buy one of these.

Just had this thing fry on me for the third time. One day it works and the next day the firewire part of it is just fried out. They charge me $100 every time to send me a new fireworks card for it. I'm done with it - not sure what I'm gonna do for my upcoming project next week....

just figured I'd warn my bros here, steer clear of this company.

Echo is crap. I bought one AF12 (the ONLY one that was ever imported to Brazil officially) and on the first power on, it burned. I sent it to Quanta Music (Brazilian Echo distributor, that also carries Digidesign, M-Audio, Yamaha, Steinberg and other crap) and after almost one month trying to contact Echo, with no luck, the got an answer saying they were out of parts :/ One month later, they sent the wrong parts. After sending the wrong parts for the second time, and answering my emails and Quanta's tech emails on a very impolite way, Quanta gave up and exchanged it for a brand new M-Audio 1814 that i sold and got my Fireface 400

Fuck Echo.
