I'm considering buying one of these. Does anyone have any experience with either one or both of them. I'm particularly interested in the quality of the converters and pre's. Any information is greatly appreciated :Smokin:

i used to play around with the edirol for some time (at home).
converters and pres are ok, but i had this super high noise on it all the time (like a 16k tone) every time i recorded something with it. for bass etc it wasn't a problem, but for acoustic guitars etc (when you're boosting/needing higher regions)it was really annoying, so i'd not recommend that.

Hmm if that is the case I might better go for the M-Audio since one of the projects that I want to record during the next couple of months has acoustic guitars in almost every track

Why not get a Emu 1212m? and a cool micpreamp to go with that? i bet it would give you loads more fun and it'll worth the money for sure!!
The problem with that option would be that I would have to find a mic preamp for about 100 euros, since I will not be able to spent much more in the next couple of months because I also want to buy a decent mic. So my idea was to get an interface with preamps so that I could use those untill I have money for a better seperate preamp.
