Editing, sub-EQ, Slight low-end comp of DI Tracks before reamping?

Over the last 2 days I have been reamping a song and no matter what I do amp-setting wise, mic position wise I cannot get rid of a bit of flub on palm mutes in the recorded RAW tracks. I have even been as drastic as setting the Bass to 0 (just to see) on the amp with the mic 1.5 inches away and it is still noticeable. I know some sub-eq or low-end comp will probably take care of it in a mix but was curious if any of you guys do any EQ or slight low-end comp (ever so slight not to kill any of the dynamics, but to tame the problem) or just take care of it after. I lowered the Gain and that helped a bit, but at the expense of sounding undergained. I like the rest of the tone/sound of the track, just the flub is annoying. I stand near the cab and can definitely hear it from the speakers, so it's not the product of the room (as far as I know). Attached is a sample of the track where I like the overall sound apart from the flub. The sample is RAW, no pre/post anything at all.

Thanks for any advice. :kickass:

Even though I have included a sample, I still think the topic is better suited to "Production Tips" rather than "Rate my Mix/Tone" since it is a production related topic. The sample just illustrates it. If I am outta line and posted in the wrong forum let me know. :)

BTW, the song is called Desire by LSD-Studio.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just did a hi/low filter and a narrow cut at 129 Hz after the fact, otherwise still RAW.
