Editing tracks: DI or Reamped

Cut out noise and stuff? After, since the amp(s) are noisy basterds.. :)

Edit: Oh.. I try to get everything down first properly (amp + DI) and then edit both as a group.
If for some reason the tone isn't working, I'll reamp but now I have the DI's already edited!

maybe overkill but i edit before and after, cause when I reamp its easier to edit the silences when I already have the DI as a reference of where they start and end in the grid

before and after, before like "manual noisegating", timing issues, small tuning issues.
I cut all the noise from the amp afterwards and so on.

i edit/warp the DI.. what's about tuning with melodyne? you do it with DI's of after the reamp?

Timing, tuning and string noise issues before reamping on the DI

all the noise from the amp is taken care of with a noisegate, I rarely edit that by hand

How would you fix tuning in the editing stage?

Also, I use a noise gate, but I also use the "Remove Silence" tool in my DAW, it's helped me out a lot.
