Editing before (fixing up timing and any faults in musicianship I didn't notice at tracking stage), then cleaning up noise after.
maybe overkill but i edit before and after, cause when I reamp its easier to edit the silences when I already have the DI as a reference of where they start and end in the grid
Timing, tuning and string noise issues before reamping on the DI
all the noise from the amp is taken care of with a noisegate, I rarely edit that by hand
yeah, you melodyne it?How would you fix tuning in the editing stage?
Also, I use a noise gate, but I also use the "Remove Silence" tool in my DAW, it's helped me out a lot.
before and after, before like "manual noisegating", timing issues, small tuning issues.
I cut all the noise from the amp afterwards and so on.
