EMG Pickups useful life ????

hello guys

does anybody here knows about useful life of EMG pick ups, someone told me emg pick ups have a 5 years useful life, is that true ?????? i think it's weird but, maybe someone here can tell me more about it.

Someone's giving you innacurate information. IIRC, EMG recommends replacing your batteries every six months or so under normal playing conditions. The output will begin to decrease over time without fresh batteries.

I remember reading that even if you leave your EMG-equipped guitar plugged in 24/7, your battery should still last about a month. It's (or it was) on their web site somewhere.

You shouldn't ever have to replace your pickups. Not unless you're just looking for different tones.
 
Ive had my batteries in my LTD for oooh....a good 2/3 years? Still sounds kickass, I think I also saw the 6 month thing.../ 1 year. I might have to replace mine to see if it makes a difference. But yeah they have a very nice battery life. That 5 year quote is a disgrace to humanity! :P :lol:
