EMG Wiring Problem's

Ok, so i decided to put my EMG81 back in my jackson, only pickup, one volume pot and thats it, working from emg's diagrams i got the guitar outputting a signal, but the volume pot did nothing, i have the white inner wire going to one side of the pot and a cable from the input jack running to the other side of the pot, but the pot still does nothing when turned it just outputs at full all the time, any ideas?

you should be running the output jack from the centre pin on the pot.

yeah, i suspected the pot may be faulty, not got any other 25k pot's lying around though, will have to order one.

try the original Jackson one, it'll still work (though not great at semi vol) and full volume it'll be fine.

is that the only reason emg suggest using 25k pots, to keep the signal from becoming muffled when turning the volume down?

all my vol pot's are fucked up lol, gonna order some new bits and do it next week, i need a new quick connect cable, cable is getting really short from the p/up.
