Enchant's , 'Man of our Times'

Me, being a HUGE Genesis fan - 1976 - 1983, was amazed to find this song that Enchant did for the tribute album. The song is from 1980s DUKE album....

That, along with the recent release of the 1976-1982 boxset, brings me to the question of how much of an influence was/is Genesis on the Enchant sound?

I have since lost that song from my library when my system crashed....but I still have, 'Changes'...so it's not THAT bad....lol


I'd like to know from the band about their Genesis link, if any....and how they were/weren't influenced by this band.....

Very much STM earlier stuff and later even. I love this era right before the horrible pop period, ie Invisable Touch MTV etc.

I guess that I am the resident Genesis nut in the band. They are probably in my top 3 favorite bands. Phil has been a really big influence on me as a drummer. I think I may have mentioned on the DVD interview that the instrumental section of My Enemy always reminded me of a Cinema Show type of thing.

I have to get the box set remasters!!

Not only you, the similarity is fairly striking in a good way. Both sections are in 7/8 with similar rhythms and an almost identical synth lead sound.
