Okay guys, here are some DIs I usually toy around with. Let me know if I'm off to a good start.

Maxon OD-820 Pro->Savage 120->Mesa Recto 4x12->SM57

No post processing, as usual.

i think there is some weird low end fuzziness going on with these that is bothering me... can't quite figure it out...

sounds awesome greg... if you feel the sound being to grainy do a dip around 6000 hz to clear it up!

agree with the mids being a little weird in the first clip.

have you tried without the TS? They sound a bit overgained to me too personally (I like kind of lower gained sounds though), but maybe taking the TS out would make it a bit nicer.

I have not. Those were my first 30 mins micing it up. I didn't toy with the settings much. I just wanted some "first impressions" ideas.

Which clip? The two are different settings/drums/bass. Kyle Odell provided everything for the "Kyle" clip.

The other one was Superior 2.0 Avatar (no external processing), Ampeg SVX and My Dean with the Savage.

I honestly don't think the Engl and Mesa Recto cab get along. I'm trying it with different cabs today!

Pretty haeavy sounding there Greg- as previously mentioned I believe, there is a grainy/fuzzy frequency im not too fond of but thats all.
