Equipment Recomendations

Greetings,

I have not posted here at all before but I thought it would be a good place to come for some quality advice on studio recording.

First off I am new to recording, I am starting to set up a home studio, I have Pro Tools LE and the Mbox Mini.
Some things I need to pick up are :

1. Guitar Mics and Mic Cables.
2. Effects Processing Rack.
3. 8 Track recorder.EQ
4. Mic stands for Cab Mics.

I am looking for good quality products but am on a mid ranged budget.

The music I will be using this station to record with goes from post rock with clean vocals, to black metal with harsh ones, if that helps with product recomendation at all.

Thanks alot for any help!

1. Well, you'll definitely want an SM57 for micing guitar cabs. After that, it's really up to you. For cables, I usually build my own using mogami cable and neutrik connectors.

2. lol i dunno

3. Seems like the M-Audio Profire 2626 is the way to go right now for an 8 track interface. But, since the Mbox mini doesn't have ADAT, I guess you'll have to get something a little more expandable before you get an interface like the Profire.

4. I've never spent more than 20 bucks on a mic stand and I've had no problems.
