NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank god I got to see them a couple times this year...

Kory Clarke of WARRIOR SOUL has joined legendary Illinois doomsters TROUBLE as the group's new frontman.

The news comes as the band returns to its Chicago base following a successful European tour.

TROUBLE founder and guitarist Rick Wartell explains: "It was a mutual agreement [between now-former TROUBLE singer Eric Wagner and the rest of the band to go our separate ways]. You need to follow your heart in this business and if you are not into it 100% then it is time to move on. We all felt it was the best thing for all parties involved. There are no hard feelings. I'm sure Eric will continue making music and we wish him the best."

Wartell went on to say: "We are very excited to have Kory step in and take over the vocals for TROUBLE. He's been one of my favorite frontmen in this industry for many years. He will add a new dimension that we can use. It's not like we just picked out some guy to fill in, this is one of rock's most dynamic and creative frontmen in the industry. I know that when TROUBLE fans get a taste of what Kory does they will not be disappointed at all. Anyone who has seen Kory with WARRIOR SOUL already knows what to expect, and it's awesome."

I dunno......
I just can't imagine going to see TROUBLE fronted by someone other than Wagner.

I guess this probably squashes their rumored appearance at ALEHORN this year, but who knows.

Looks like we posted this right around the same time... maybe someone can merge the thread... Never been a huge fan, but their sound was certainly distinct with him on the mic...

I remember seeing WARRIOR SOUL live in the early 90s. They were part of some big package tour with Sisters of Mercy, and others.

I think they were on DEF AMERICAN (as was TROUBLE around that time) I am assuming this is how Rick Wartell knows of him. Maybe they played shows together around this time too?

Here is the official statement from ERIC WAGNER:

5-2-08
It is with my deepest regret that by mutual agreement
that Trouble and I have parted ways effective immediately.

I love them very much and I wish them nothing but the
best. At this moment in time I just can’t handle touring
anymore.

All I want to do is write songs and work on my new project
Black Finger. I am sorry and I love you all.

-Eric

the point is: Control Denied was Chuck's project.

Let's have a tour for Black Label Society without Zakk Wylde... or better yet, a world tour for Ihsahn's solo material, but with somebody else!

I guess this probably squashes their rumored appearance at ALEHORN this year, but who knows.

Alehorn confirmed today:

TROUBLE
SLOUGH FEG
BIBLE OF THE DEVIL
ICARUS WITCH
PHAROAH

Odd that it was announced today along with the departure of Wagner. Honestly, I'm not interested in seeing Trouble now. I've never liked Kory Clarks voice...

Fuck, if I lived anywhere within 6 hours driving I'd hit up every headlining show they do... except now, I'll go see them when they're playing with a good lineup. Nothing I hate more than when bands I love but haven't seen have a drastic change in a lineup like this.
