ESP - *the* guitar for powermetal?

I was thinking about the different brands/types of guitars that are favored by players in different genres when I started thinking about the brands that are most associated with metal - BC Rich, Jackson, Ibanez, ESP...and it struck me that some of the biggest powermetal bands in the world either endorse ESP or use them exclusively:

Stratovarius
Gamma Ray
Edguy
Symphony X (ok they aren't totally powermetal but they have some elements)
Blind Guardian
Hammerfall

I know its all just coincidence but I thought it was kinda interesting.

metallica use ibanez, same with deftones, slayer. . . it really doesn't mean shit. . . are they power metal guitarists using power metal guitars?

Metallica use Ibanez?! Then why do James and Kirk have signature series ESP's???!!! Slayer uses ESP too. (Jeff anyway), and Kerry uses a BC.
There are many, many nu-metal players also playing ESP. ESP's are good guitars, even the lower line LTD's are so much better than any Jackson or Ibanez at the same price. But don't expect to play one and turn into power metal glory.

I wasn't trying to say its the guitar and not the player, I just thought it was a strange coincidence, Im well aware many nu-metallers use ESPs (and a lot use Ibanez too).

I'd soooo love to have an ESP. I mean, no disrespect to my beloved US Strat, but I tried
an M2 in a store once, and for that short period of time, playing that guitar, I actually
thought I'd died and ended up in heaven. It was just divine.
