Jethro Tull - Minstrel in the Gallery

Definitely Minstrel, but I think the folk trilogy is full of better material than Passion Play, and definitely better than War Child.

But that's, like, my opinion man.

Aren't most of those (or all, I don't know every band) jazz, or jazz fusion? Don't mean to be a dick, but those would never come to my mind in 60-70 rock albums.

That being said, I posted some garage bands that you might consider not rock too

Yeah Tower of Power and Herbie Hancock don't really belong in the rock category, you're right. But the other have enough rock or are influential enough on the rock of subsequent decades that they're worth mention.

Some more I haven't seen yet or missed

The Animals - s/t
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bayou Country, Green River
Dick Dale
Dire Straits - s/t
Eric Clapton - 461 Ocean Blvd
George Thorogood - s/t
Queen - Night at the Opera

lets do some folk rock for the fuck of it

(stuff already mentioned like Dylan and Young)
Nick Drake - all 3 albums
Leonard Cohen - Songs of LC, Song of L and H
Joni Mitchell - Blue
Van Morrison - Astral Weeks, Moondance, Veedon Fleece
Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge, Bookends
Townes Van Zandt - OMTM, Self titled
Jackson C Frank - ST
Tim Buckley - Happy Sad
John Martyn - Solid Air
Fairport Convention - Liege & Lief
Crobsy, Stills, and Nash - ST, Deja Vu (w/ Neil Young)
Rodriguez - Cold Fact
Gene Clark - No Other

I've got a couple random ones to add.

Salem Mass - Witch Burning
I like music with dark lyrics, not a common thing this early really but this album does it for me, baaaad. I've heard people say the occult lyrics cut out after the first couple songs but I really feel like the entire album deals with the occult. Some really catchy stuff here.

Coven - Witchcraft Destroys Minds and Reaps Souls
More early occult rock. This one is more famous that Salem Mass.

Ice Cross - s/t
Uber rare heavy rock recently brought back to life. This one just rocks. I won't act like I knew about this one before it was rereleased but it just flat out rocks.

Might also be worth noting
Cromagnons - Orgasm (aka Cave Rock)
Fucking weird psych rock album that has a song that almost sounds like black metal. Did it influence darkthrone? Most likely not. Is it bizarre experimentation? More likely.

Pentangle - everything through Cruel Sister

Rare Bird is like a much crappier version of ELP.

The Dire Straits first few albums are fantastic too. Somehow forgot about them.
