essential brutal death metal

I'm not Justin, but I'd say Inhuman Grotesqueries is the best although I have not heard Motivated by Hunger.

I have that one as well as their split with Intervalle Bizzare which is essential listening material. Intrauterine Cannibalism is not that good. This band has improved by miles over the last ten years.

Yeah they have; Malignancy fucking rules now. The Intervalle Bizzare split is absolutely amazing, IB were fantastic themselves (if you grab the Czech Assault split too you can hear there only other material I recall them releasing) also. The production on Intrauterine Cannibalism is piss-poor and the playing isn't up to snuff either. Ron has clearly grown as a composer and guitarist in recent years. Seeing Malignancy live is awesome.

Ok for some reason I only just now listened to a Suffocation album for the first time (unforgivable, I know) and um, needless to say, it was badass - so, could any one of you experts narrow down the suggestions here to say top 3 or top 5 most important brutal death albums? I don't really wanna take a break from everything and listen to 30 brutal death albums all the way through just right now though it does sound interesting. Seems to be a lot of love for Devourment, I'm noticing.

I'm just gonna say that these are giving me a stiffy:

Vitality - Voracious Malignity
Goretrade - Perception Of Hate

Drawn and Quartered - Merciless Hammer of Lucifer
Disgorge - Cranial Impalement
Devourment - 1.3.8.
and I third the Ulcerate cd even though its not BDM

I think it's worth mentioning that Molesting the Decapitated and 1.3.8. are essentially the same thing. Although, on 1.3.8. you do get Babykiller. (and some throw in junk bonus tracks)

I'm not a big demo track guy... especially when they have the final product on the same disc. Not to mention they are placed strangley on the disc. (New song - 3 demo tracks - then full length material?)
