European Concerts db Regulation

If there is a Festival with Slayer you have no problem: They'll be the only band who use the whole audio system and will force all the other bands in the bill to use an half + a dB limitation :D

My buddy did FOH the last European Himsa tour, and I remember him saying that in Switzerland (I believe it was Switzerland) there was some ridiculously low limit, like 85 or 90dB!

I believe the official max here is at 112 db, but I'm just not 100% sure, sorry about that.

There is definitely one in France, 105db, not sure about other countries (I know UK doesn't have any that why I've seen gigs at 120-123 db there), that's why I'm trying to find out.

haha yeah man, last time i saw Dream Theater back in 2003 for the 6DOIT tour, we were sat right behind the desk and there was a sound level meter there.

was peaking at 128db!!!! :D

I'm in the Netherlands as well; I think I read somewhere that 112 dB is the max for peaks and normal volume about 105 dBs is appropriate for most venues, indeed it may differ per venue, according to which venue follows the rules I guess..

lol.. i've seen motorhead perform once, no doubt the loudest live show i have ever heard.. that being said, it sounded like crap... good to hear there is a limit.
