Get a load of these monsters: Event Opal. Has Event ever had a monitor in this price range before? Not to mention 750 FUCKING WATTS, JESUS CHRIST - headroom is one thing, but this still looks more like a midfield at most, and that seems totally overkill...

I swear they just use some of these components/ materials just because they sound good, i.e. 'it blends beryllium with the extremely powerful neodymium'. WTF is Beryllium? Sublimally I just went Beryllium = Brilliant. Nice. I want if Brilliant.

Beryllium is actually toxic :erk:. I read a review on these monitors and that was one thing that came up . Apparently there is something in the package explaining that if the tweeters ever get ripped you got to send them in (not safe to handle). When I read it though it was explained that it has better response or some shit like that . Seriously I just can't remember everything I read but those 2 points were memorable. I am pretty sure these got a killer review.

It's the new asbestos!

Yeah, whenever I listened to ASP8's in stores, they were always too bassy, good for hip hop assholes perhaps, but I'd rather not have my kick flattered beyond believe only to find it a limp fish elsewhere :erk: And I think the Opals are actually pretty sexy, but toxic tweeters, are they fucking kidding? And anyone have any thoughts as to why they're SO RIDICULOUSLY POWERFUL?!?!?

There definately is something with the Beryllium that does wonders. All monitors from Focal also uses Beryllium, except for the new CMS-series. I've used Focal Solo6 Be and Twin6 Be for a while, and the tweeters are the greatest sounding I've ever heard. And they get nothing but great reviews all over so it'll be interesting to see/hear what the Opals sounds like as well.
