Evergrey show at the Masquerade?

I've never seen a show at the Masq for some reason (scratching head). Anyway, I'd love to go to this and the Testament show. Hmmm...my wheels are turning....

I've never seen Testament before, and the Masquerade is an awesome club setting for a live show! 1,200 capacity. A very large open floor.:kickass:

YEAH, RIGHT?! I highly doubt it @ The Masquerade! HOPEFULLY they will turn on the ceiling fans, which are MOST of the times I've been there (which is a whole lot since 1988!) Never ever turned on, even in 90-100 degree weather outside! :p Hoyt, I promise you & to all of y'all here, I'm not complaining about the venue change, I totally understand. I'm just saying. Still very much looking forward to this show!!! :headbang:
Sorry bout my general masquerade whining & bitchin.
Are you gonna be at the Testament show, as well, Jimi?

ah...the Masq in the summer weather...blech
oh well - for Evergrey I shall deal with it :)

Hoyt -- for those of us tickets waiting at will-call, is there a way to make sure we are still good to go, as it were? Shaye and I are a wee bit concerned about this, since it IS the Masq and not The Local...

thanks

I am so glad it's the Masquerade! Very cool... That means we can take a cab and drink, since it's so close. Too far to cab it to the Local for us. Either one of us can't drink or we get a hotel room.

Then Testament the following night, same venue! Great weekend fo sho! Just have to be prepared for the heat...:p

Can we assume this will be in Heaven and not in Hell at the Masquerade? Never understood the names since Heaven actually feels like Hell in the spring, summer and fall and the Masq because of the heat. It was even a tad bit warm at the Destruction show this past Saturday night and that was a sparsely attended show and it was cool outside.

Am I hearing this right... Evergrey on a Friday night, and Testament on a Sat night.... back to back? :heh::saint:

You heard correctly! Just like if you are going to the Nightwish/VOlbeat show then following up that the next night with Kreator/Exodus it will be another back to back show at the Masquerade as well 2 weeks earlier!!! :kickass::kickass:

Not large enough for 1200!!! That must be the capacity including hell and even purgatory... I thought the capacity for Heaven was 800 (and not 144,000 ;)). Paul, you probably know this. :)

(Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Evergrey and Testament pull huge crowds, but the idea of being in the Masquerade with 1,199 other people disquiets me. o_O)

Saviour, I finally got to see them live last summer on the Metal Masters Tour. They were the first band to play, so they were playing to sparse crowds. Most of the crowd was out buying beer, merchandise, or just coming into the venue. Regardless they tore it up! I don't think you'll be disappointed. :kickass:

Thanks, EoT! I may try to go if you'll definitely be there. Can't afford to go to both shows, though.:erk:

I just remembered that the Mastodon show is the same week as Kreator and Nightwish, as well as Rotten Sound.

AND the night before Evergrey is Isis, and the night before that is Pigsty.

So that's like 8 concerts in those weeks I'd like to see. Crazy.

Maybe clay? If I can win some tickets! Omfg, I just realized something y'all, I've not seen Testament since 1992! When they were opening for Maiden @ Lakewood! Before that, it was in 1987, when they first played here opening for Antrhrax for the "Among The Living" tour"?! Yeah, I really wanna see Testament now, since TFOD was one of my all time faves from last year! So hopefully, if I can win some tickets, I'll be there w/ my faithful Metal Queen shari!:headbang:

the Ticket Alternative WILL CALL List will be handed over to the Masquerade and treated as it would a TicketMaster WILL CALL list. You shouldn't have to worry about a thing. :)

I think the capacity for Heaven upstairs is now 1,000, post-Great-White.

I can't imagine the venue being over half full for Evergrey. A 500-person crowd upstairs is fine.
1,000 people....can get a little tight.
1,000 people and being crushed against the barricade...not much fun. (Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth... :heh: )

Holy cow, 1,000? Really? Wow... not sure I've ever been to a show there with that many. I don't think we have to worry about it being an issue either, but I apparently have no clue about who shows up for what in Atlanta. :)

I can't even count all the shows I was up there for back in the day... Crushed against the barricade was kinda cool when I was 20... these days, not so much. :p
