I use to only like Still Life for a while and i was really bias to all the other cd's. But i have been really studying to other tracks on the other cd's and i have come to the conclusion that everyone of them is awsome in its own way. There is so much talent expressed in the songs it amazes me how just a couple of guys can write riffs and lyrics that are so moving. Every song expresses some kind of emotion or feeling. I still feel that still life has great vision and has a wide variety, i guess that is why i like it the most. My Arms Your Hearst is probably my least favorite, but i dont think i really can say that because i still love all the songs.

After struggling to find out which one is the best hes found the light. 
I found this out a while, it is too hard to pick a favorite! I just go through phases with each album. I think we should ban any "which is the best" threads!

Not only because all of Opeth's albums are great in their own way, but because a new one seems to come up every week!
I agree,,,i am not trying to make this a which one is best thread,,,i am just Vocieing that i have finally realized that opeth cd's cant be labeled because everyone of them is my favorite,,,it would be a miricle if you found something different in my cd player in my car, or in my room.

Well your average normal band formula would be:
Point A. Band starts, music is ok. ---> Point B. Music gets better/worse.
Your Opeth formula would be:
Point A. Band starts, music is ingenius. ---> Point B. Music changes but stays ingenius.
I don't think you can possibly have an Opeth favourite... their music is just made in such a way that it is impossible to... their albums are all equal on that ingenuity scale and they all kind of balance each other out.
You have that and then you have your average band that just puts out records and 'grows' with experience and their music either gets better, boring or they sell out.

i believe the case with opeth is that the album you begin with becomes your favorite. at least, thats the case with me and it's still life.

I began with Blackwater Park but it's definately not my favourite (neither is any other album though ).
