Evoken--Quietus

This thing is fuckin' dehabilitating, especially to first time listeners. If they can get passed the first few bars of the music. "All hope is completely lost" on this album. I know it's been awhile since it's release(2001) but, I know some who think it's the best album in the genre. I don't know about that, but it's really impressive. Thoughts and opinions from the doom/death people on this forum. Thanx.

Well, so far I've only heard 'Antithesis Of Light' but I found that to be a staggeringly impressive piece of work so I'll probably give this one a listen as well in the near future.

That's the other album of theirs i have, which i preferred to Quietus personally.. But hey, opinions are arousing.

I've only heard A Caress of the void, how does that one compare to the other albums? Caress... is decent imo.

I've just downloaded A Caress... actually - Antithesis is pretty nice though.. As i said, preferred it to Quietus.

But that said, i've not listened to this band a huge amount.

Evoken might very well be the successors to Thergothon, they're quite impressive.

I'm not a regular to doom metal, but I have to say the more I listen to it the more I start to like it. It really gets the mental imagery flowing. I listened to the song "Quietus" on youtube and I enjoyed it.
