i know this has been done a million times, but its fun anyway. heres basically the genres within metal i dig, tell me the must have albums or what you think i dont have so i can check it out.

tech death-necrophagist, capharnaum, spawn of possession, neuraxis, psycroptic, etc.
sludgy spacey droning stuff-isis, pelican, neurosis, cult of luna
thrash-exodus, testament, vio-lence, destruction, slayer, etc.
old school death-dismember, bloodbath, etc.
power metal-avantasia, dragon force, edguy, blind guardian, etc.
melodic flashy stuff-children of bodom, sinergy, wintersun, ensipherum, norther, skyfire, etc.

Mak sure you're familiar with older stuff like Atheist, Pestilence and Gorguts then check out the more recent Martyr, Wormed and Alarum.

I'm not really fond of this kind of stuff. Go buy the new Enslaved.
