exporting audio, silence time

whenever i export an audio mixdown, there is always a short space of silence before the audio starts on the exported track
how do i export without this silence, i.e. for making samples so they are in time with the track

Lets eliminate the obvious, and work from there:

- For the full audio mixdown, you don't have the countoff going on the export (and subsequent import), right?

- you didn't trim/clip the intro & left the blank stuff in the beginning...?

- Assuming your export is pulled back into Cubase ...
- how short is the silence? a few tics, or a few beats/measures?
- is the "short space" consistant in multiple export/imports (diff tunes)?
- are all settings in the track you import the same that you "saved" it at?

Just trying to suss out the prob....

the audio to be exported is set between the locators
in this case andys kick for example
i would insert his wav file
completely cut down everything except one beat
move the tiny one beat to the beginning (the beat is trimmed finely)
set the locators
and then export
and when i import the file
there would be approximately 0.155 seconds of silence in the file before the kick beat and would end as originally set

Are you applying any plug-ins - if so, is the option to compensate for plug-in latencies activted?

never had this problem..........err trying exporting something else into cubase that's already chopped to the right length and try exporting that and see if it still does it

it basically adds this short silence time to whatever is exported
this problem isnt life threatening if someone could just send me a clipped version of andys kick that i can use

You can use Sound Forge or Wavelab, etc for a single track.

You're sure you zoomed in, turned of the snap function and adjusted the markers? strange.
