Extracting Vocals from a recording...

Okay so I know this is usually an impossible task. I have a recording of a song with the vocals, and I have a record of the song instrumental. Having both of those things, would it be at all possible to isolate the vocals? Appreciated guys.

Unfortunately, since the vocal track changes the wave form on both L and R sides, you can't reverse the phase or anything to isolate just the vocals. Your best bet is take the track to a mid/side version and just keep the middle.
