Does anyone have any tips on how to make DKFH sound more real with the cymbals or snare or anything? Everyone has Steven Slate Drums and knows how to make that sound real, so if you have any tips please share

My favorite Toontrack kit is the stock EZDrummer pop/rock kit. I am mixing it to taste and like it better (for metal) than all the others I bought (sd2, lost ny, metal foundry(bah!))

Try this: Load 2 instances of EZD, one with the full DKFH kit, and the other with the Rock kit. BUT, on the Rock kit, mute everything except the bass, snare, and room mics. I've done this in the past, and its really helped to add some meat to the main kit pieces (DKFH sounds cool, but is so thin sounding to me).

But what you can do to make it sound more 'real' is to play around with the samples, see what you like, then mix the velocities up to make it sound like a real drummer.
I would seriously recommend Superior Drummer 2 though, and if you have the disk space The Metal Foundry (a lot of samples there).
