I cannot get a good sound out of SSD. Help?

I have Steven Slate Drums and just cannot seem to get a good sound. I generally use the Cracky Metal Kit with some reverb and EQ changes.

Everything on there is SSD if you need clips.

If any one could share some good multis? or just some tips on how to get a better sound.

EDIT: Drum sounds I like are Chevelle and KSE (New album)

Sounds like it needs more room in the sound IMO. Try turning that up and see what you come up with.

The 2 main kits I use depending on the situation are Panty kit and All American kit. Both have minor modifications.

If using the Panty Kit I usually keep the kick and snare, replace the toms with the Maple Toms. Sometimes i will also mix in andys snare under it for some body.

If using All American I usually use Kick 10 and Snare 5 or 11 depending on how the mix is turning out.

OK now i hear about people mixing drum sounds like you just said, how would I import some other sounds in to blend sounds together? and ok ill try those out

Get a new sample package for cymbals - I recommend Superior 2.0 or the Joey Sturgis ones.

Ya the Sturgis ones are great. Joey did an amazing job on those, and for the price they cant be beat!

You have to use something else. Battery would be a good choice.
