I'm looking for some new reading material soon. Right after i finish the new Raymond E Feist and the Otherworld series from Tad Williams(goddam those books are long) - anyone have some suggestions?

By the way count out anything by - Eddings, Feist, Jordan, Goodkind, Weis & Hickman, RR Martin, JV Jones :)

Raymond E Feist is coming to Adelaide for a book signing soon. Pity I haven't read any of his stuff, otherwise I might be interested...

Try American Gods or Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gaiman, then all six volumes of Clive Barker's Books of Blood. Splendid reading, all them :).

If my library has them, I plan to get started on Laurell K Hamilton's "Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter" series. Think R-rated Buffy crossed with noir detective fiction and you're halfway there.

I, Strahd and Vampires In The Mist are great if you like vampire books, as are the Bitter Ashes trilogy ones from White Wolf publishing :D

Maybe the Thrawn Star Wars trilogy by Timothy Zahn also, and any of the Rogue Squadron books if you are Starwarsically inclined :)

There are two different versions of that, one of which has illustrations by Charles Vess. I'd stick with the plain novel though. It's cheaper and easier to find.

Goreripper, did Mervyn Peake write any fantasy books besides the Gormenghast trilogy?

No he didn't. In fact he died of encephalitis before he could actually rewrite and complete the third book of the series. He was a genius taken before his time. The interesting thing about Gormenghast was that he wrote it during the Second World War. During a spell as a bomber crewman he lost the manuscript and had to start all over again.

Finished reading that last week. :)
Very excellent stuff.

Coolies :D Get the Rogue Squdron ones next if you are still in a Starwarsy mood (I think theres 9 all up, start on 1 and work your way through them!)

Thanks for the suggestions :)

I've read Gaiman's/Pratchett's Good Omens, and i used to read Sandman so I may have to pick up on of his new books.

I've had a couple of people mention Robin Hobb to so that may be worth a look too!

Any fantasy fan's MUST check out George R R Martin's Song of Fire and Ice - Best fantasy stuff in god knows how long, maybe ever! :)

Harry Potter! Forget that they're kids books, they're frickin' AWESOME! Kids get killed and stuff! There's a reason adults love them as well.

Agreed, great books. I'm getting a little concerned about the delays on the new book though.
