New The Chasm album to be released September 15th. Is anyone as excited as I am?

It better be as good or better than their last releases. I'm definitly looking forward to this. It might be the best death metal album of the year if its as good as the last ones.

The Chasm's level of consistency in releasing good albums is almost scary. Some might be better than the others but overall there hasn't been one that is below "good". I want a fucking t-shirt.

I honestly dont think a death metal band has been as consistently good as The Chasm, period.

I need to listen to them more to consider myself a hardcore fan of them, but they are freaking amazing. I always buy shirts of bands I'm totally familiar with. But I'm definitly going to start listening to them more now.

So, now the album's out, what's the verdict? Fuckin' loved it personally - astonishingly good album. I've never managed to get massively into the band before - I've always appreciated their virtuosity and compositional complexity, but haven't been properly grabbed by the throat by any of their albums before. With 'Farseeing...' I deliberately set out to listen to it several times, start-to-finish, with no distraction, and man, did that approach ever work. Gonna have to go back and re-appraise their other albums now...

Is it as good as Conjuration of the Spectral Empire? It's the only The Chasm, that I've been able to get into.

Personally, I'd have to go back and do some serious re-listening to their earlier albums - this is the first one I've really put the effort into 'getting'. What does everyone else reckon - which album is a good re-starting point for further listening after 'Farseeing...'?

It is their best since Deathcult.
