Farting bass sound? How to rid myself of it.

Any way to get rid of this farting sound in my bass tone? Or is it just playing with a pick that does that? Or using a shitty bass? lol

It sounds like the strings are flying all around the place.

I think it´s the playing, yeah, do what thedude says. Ampeg plugin is great. what bass is it? maybe lowering the tone knob will help to tame some of the fartiness? I know of some basses that can get very "farty" when the tone is cranked all the way up

If the bass has an active EQ, leave it flat, or even turn the bass down

If you want to get a good driven bass tone, copy the bass part, and use one for a clean bass tone, and another for dirty. Highpass the dirty bass tone, as any low frequencies will get really muddy when distorted.

And... MOTHERFUCKING HIT those strings!
