Fates Warning

Maybe that would have held true 10 years ago or so, but there are so many quality bands out there that put out some amazing stuff. Maybe a bad Savatage album is better than 50% of the other stuff; but I think 90% is taking it "a bit too far.", Mo

I think a "good" Savatage album is better than about .00000352% of stuff out there. :yuk:

Savatage - just not as good as they really could be, if they were another band.

Fates Warning - I still like the first 3 better with John Arch on vox and the first with Ray Alder (No Exit). Looking forward to the Arch EP project on Metal Blade.

D.C. Cooper - on another thread in ProgPower someone was praising him. IMO he needs to get with the times on that singing style. He is so '80's. The 2 Silent Force cd's showed great variety in style and generally rocked hard, but live - dude, he sucked!

I praised him..

DC Cooper sucked live?

Glenn please put up a video of RIVER OF PAIN (Royal Hunt), THE UNION (DC Cooper Solo) or FALL INTO OBLIVION (Silent Force) and clear things up this man!

He's incredible, both in the studio, and on the stage!

I agree with YtseJammer; I think that guy is a little tight on his analysis of one of the greatest prog metal vocalists of all time. DC's perfprmance at PP was nothing short of perfect. He went out of his way to please his fans by playing not only Silent Force material, but also his solo work as well as a Royal Hunt song (all in just 45 minutes or an hour); whatever he had.
