Fav Guitar Model

I just skipped school to chill at GC with some buddies and i played as many high end guitars as i could, just cause i can and i want to see some future prospects.

The John Petrucci model was pretty killer, it had a simple design and the bridge had a whammy but no lock nut! It stayed in tune jsut as good though, it was killer. The piezos sounded amazing too, really gives it a resonant and warm tone.

Then i played a PRS Mccarty. Eh, my Custom 24 KILLS the McCarty, easy.

So then i played the Ibanez Jem 7VWH. Holy shit. This guitar is utterly amazing, well built the neck joint is perfect, wammy bar works so smoothly. Inlay's are sick as nuts. Stays in tune even on crazy dive bombs. SOOOOO SMOOTH. Almost as smooth as my Custom 24. I love this guitar, it gets such good tone, the action is great. The scallop frets at the bottom really to help i have alot more control and more sustain up there. feels reallllyyy good. I plan to buy this in a year or so, for shredding and just another guitar to enjoy day by day.

I briefly played an SL2H, and it felt incredible as well, small neck and amazing action, price was like 1900 i think, dont remember. but yeah, great guitar as well.

So all in all...

in all honesty dude, for the price of a new jem you could get a custom built guitar that would wtfpwn any jem ever made. its just not worth it.

JEMs are indeed fucking expensive. But I'm happy with my JEM 555, the previous owner upgraded the pickups and the hardware (better trem and everything gold).

I played the Petrucci a while ago, but I didn't like it... I also played the PGM 301, which sounded and played WAY better, and it was also a lot cheaper

IMO jems are some of best guitars out there, i find alot of times custom guitars end up sucking (not always of course)

Im used to playing ibanez so it might just be personal prefence.

How can a custom made guitar suck when it's made to your specific specifications? Thats like saying your ultimate guitar will never be good enough for you.
