It could maaybe be the battle of Moria if we are to believe the warrior is a dwarf. Not sure what the winged creature is supposed to be lord of the rings wise, but I guess it could work since there are mentioned to be dark unknown creatures in the deep places of the world. You could say this was the fall of Moria, sure. But helm's deep? Noway.

I also don't know what the cat wizard would be since there's no such creature in Tolkien's world to my knowledge.

Neat thread. I haven't seen this on the last few pages but its probably one of the covers from the last few years that has stuck with me most. High saturation and desert colors are great.

Yeah, Sapkowski is a pathetic, plagiarizing hack, the only thing more poorly written and unoriginal than his books are the dreck video games they inspired. I feel horrible for an author as brilliant as Moorcock that he got screwed so badly on that.

Ugh, tell me about it. As far as RPGs go, I'll take Gothic, Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment, Neverwinter Nights, etc. over the Witcher games. At least they don't have to rely on T&A to sell copies.

Or, speaking of your screen name, any of the Elder Scrolls games as well. Couldn't agree more. The Glitcher can rot in hell.

I can't speak for all Witcher games, as I have only played The Witcher 3. My friend got a free copy of it with his graphics card or something and he already had it so he sent me the free copy. Spent around 100 hours playing it and thought it was pretty great. I didn't encounter a single glitch in those 100 hours either. I especially liked a lot of the decisions you had to make, many of which that were morally ambiguous.

The real issue with the mythos involving The Witcher is that Sapowski actually delves into the realms of word-for-word plagiarism from Moorcock's work. It gets truly ridiculous. It makes it hard for me to like the games that much.

OK, upon further viewing of this thread, why hasn't this cover been put here?!

Also, I LOVE the cover of The Key. It looks like something out of the Ghost In The Shell manga.
