I think Metallica is awesome just by its simplicity.

As for Sunn O))), it's creative and suggestive, that 'O)))' is like a pictogram of the sun, or I imagine it as a depiction of how the sound propagates. I can see why somebody might find it stupid - did so at first too, but after thinking about it, I like it.
