Favorite Opeth solo

Opeth has multiple riffs that totally rock.

3:00 into Godheads Lament is insane. To me, it sounds like the guitar is actually crying.. so emotional.

13:39 into Black Rose Immortal Oh what can I say about that riff. It totally means so much to me. Ive had some hard times lately with a friend and I play that riff things dont seem that bad and I can clearly think about things. So, yea that riff is good and emotional.

The end to Apostle in Truimph is really good too. Just some hardcore guitar action.

Every solo in 'Deliverance' is my favourite at the moment. That song is incredible.

Apart from that, geez there's so many. 4:28-5:28 in The Funeral Portrait is probably my personal favourite. The solo in Serenity Painted Death is pretty technical for sure, but there are others that sound better imho.

For Serenity Painted Death, it isn't a matter of technicality. That solo perfectly conveys the emotion the entire album tries to capture. Despair. Aggression. Everything that Still Life is about can be found in that solo.

*BUMP* This thread is very old but it needs a bump up. Anyway I still love the Serenity Painted Death solo but my other favorites are Godheads Lament, The Drapery Falls and some of the ones off Damnation. Amazing stuff...

Ok, my turn.

1. Wreath - 5.05
2. Deliverance - 8.13
3. Forest of October - 5.45
4. Master Apprentice - 5.27
5. The Twilight Is My Robe - 8.43
6. Apostle in Triumph - 3.15
7. In The Mist She Was Standing - 2.44
8. Drapery Falls - Live Version - Around 5.00

Thats some, not all :p

The one on Deliverance is just awesome.........especially the bending in this solo is just killer...

The one on Serenity Painted Death is also one of their best.

Forest Of October is really cool because as someone said its totally un-opeth-ish but very good ( on the bootleg video too :) ).
Most of Opeth solos are awesome anyway , i cant pick one
